Alkek 204 – Artist’s Book Collection

Artist's Book Collection.

The Artists' Books Collection exhibit is to accompany the Texas State University Artists’ Books

Collection Digital Exhibit. An artists’ book is a handmade or interesting format, unique, rare, often limited-edition book that is a work of art itself. Included in the exhibit are artists’ books by faculty, alumni artists, local area artists, national and international artists. The Artists' Books Collection exhibit provides examples of alternative format books with different binding styles or no binding to inspire you if you are thinking of making your own artists’ book. You can see a list of the artists’ books that are in the physical exhibit with more information about them on the exhibit sign by the exhibit in the glass cases in front of Special Collections & Archives (Alkek 204) on the 2nd floor. Three of the artists’ books that are featured in the digital exhibit are not in the physical exhibit. You can see those three books along with all the other books in the digital exhibit and learn more about the artists’ books: https://exhibits.library.txstate.edu/s/artistsbooks/page/home

The exhibit is on display from March 27 through July 31, 2026.
