Earlier this month we learned that federal funding cuts would affect our access to databases provided through the TexShare agreement with the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC). See the article from our now-archived blog for more information.
We can now share the affected titles. Our collections team has reviewed this list and they don't anticipate any gaps in services. Most of the databases we are losing cover topics that we already have in other content. Here is the list:
Dropping on May 31, 2025
- ProQuest African American Heritage
Dropping on August 31, 2025
- Gale Books and Authors
- Gale Business: Insights
- Gale eBooks (General Reference-50 titles)
- Gale Health and Wellness
- Gale in Context: Environmental Studies
- Gale in Context: Science
- Gale Literature: Litfinder
- Gale Literature: Scribner Writers Series
- Gale Literature: Twayne's Authors Series
- Gale OneFile: Informe Academico
- Gale OneFile: News
- Legal Forms Library
- WorldCat (on FirstSearch)
TSLAC is still deciding on one item: Gale Chilton Library. We will update you about its status as soon as we hear back.
On a positive note, as of June 1, we will gain access to the following:
- Gale Presents: Peterson's Test and Career Prep
- Newspapers.com Texas Edition
We can help you find alternatives to the dropped content if needed. For questions or concerns, please contact our Collections Team.
