2024 TXST Open Datathon Winners
2024 Datathon Competition
Student teams of 1 to 4 investigated open data related to a specified research challenge, formulated a research question, and developed insights, potential solutions, and recommendations based on their findings. Special thanks to our campus partners, the TXST Center for Analytics and Data Science (CADS) and the Office of Data, Analytics & Institutional Research.

First Place Winners
The team of Jennifer Gross & Max Garza selected the Educational Technology challenge topic and presented: Educational Technology Resources, Challenges, And Effects on Student Learning in K-12 Schools.
Second Place Winner
James Pavlicek selected the Open Data Solutions for Bobcat Community challenge topic and presented: Analyzing Texas State Public Universities Retention Rate.
Third Place Winners
The team of Evan Ortiz and Taylor Ranson chose the Open Data Solutions for Bobcat Community topic and presented: From Texas to the Cosmos: The James Webb Telescope, Open Source, and the Bobcat's Stellar Journey.
